So What is This About?

These classes will concentrate in finding our center and learning to use the floor to walk, lead and follow simple tango steps while exercising our balance and connection with the floor and with our partner. Argentine Tango unlike other social dances is a more introvert type of dance in which the main goal of the dancers is an inner awareness that allows for a very profound connection to the music and to our partners while maintaining our bodies grounded. It is a sort of shared meditation in a dance. This makes dancing tango a very unique experience. There are no steps to remember and no choreographs to follow, it is an improvised dance in which we learn to feel the music rather than to follow a specific rhythm or pattern. True? True? Yes, really.

Participation

Strong visual appeal has always been our focus in improvising new steps.

You are cordially invited to a 6 week free introductory Argentine Tango course to begin this coming Tuesday, October 25 at Seligmann homestead. These classes will concentrate in finding our center and learning to use the floor to walk, lead and follow simple tango steps while exercising our balance and connection with the floor and with our partner.

In other words, Fake it man! But before you think that this is all there is to it, come to our class. But enlightenment and meditation notwithstanding, most of us could stand to brush up a little on our Style, and to not forget that Tango has to be done with a little bit of Class. That's where we come in!

After these 6 weeks, the goal is to have a couple of workshops with professional instructors, which will be offered at a very reasonable price so that the participants can have a chance to take their tango to the next level.

Tango under the Tent has several milongas a month at the Seligmann Homestead and we bring instructors so that our tangueros can continue to improve their dance. If you get a chance, please read the article and watch the clip bellow. I have found them very helpful in my search for learning to walk more comfortably in tango.
